Treasurer: Kenneth Gustafson, CFA

keg2 IMG_0061 (002) (002)  Ken has over 25 years experience in finance, risk management, derivatives, asset valuation and transactions, and portfolio management at financial institutions and commodity merchants. Prior to joining Vine Advisors, Ken managed an advisory practice focused on risk management, valuation, asset transaction in commodities, derivatives, structured products and securities. As well, he led Citigroup’s commodity structuring unit for the Americas for 7 years managing a team that structures product, portfolio, and asset transactions, and originated structured products in natural gas, oil, power, LNG, renewables, and metals. Previous roles include executive and advisory roles at Shell Trading, Enron, Deutsche Bank, Bankers Trust, and trading and arbitrage with Bear, Stearns and Shell in Houston, New York and London. He is also an Advisory Board Member of Eiffel Trading, an online marketplace for equipment and materials in civil construction, marine and oil field and a strategy advisor for NatGasHub, Shalebox, and GasCap.

Ken’s activities include valuation of security instruments with complex underlying components, asset valuation and transactional activities, hedge restructuring and advisory on commodities, power, oil, natural gas, LNG, infrastructure, renewables, metals and softs across the upstream, midstream/infrastructure, and downstream space.  Advisory work include expert witness, testimony, report construction and analysis.

Jamie-MarzonieJamie has spent over 18 years at the forefront of process improvement and people development for various technology driven companies, helping every organization innovate and drive business value forward.  His industry experience spans from telecommunications, semiconductors, capital equipment for the food industry, to the construction and deployment of subsea assets.  He has had leading roles in sales, engineering, training, project management, and risk management.

Jamie has spent his last 10 years in the energy business from teaching an Introduction to Subsea Systems for a University of Houston program while at Cameron, building umbilicals at Technip, and to most recently leading Risk for offshore construction contractor EMAS (acquired by Subsea 7).

Former Presenter and Rooms Setup: Allan Kean

Allan has spent over 25 years at the forefront of upstream offshore geology with global enterprises including Repsol, Devon, El Paso, and ExxonMobil.  His recent experience involves all aspects of Exploration including 2D & 3D Seismic Acquisiton, Depth Migration Processing, and Interpretation. Successful international work experiences were in Trinidad (8 years) Brazil (7 years), Algeria (3 years) and Nigeria (4 years) where efforts were responsible directly for finding over 150 MMBO and gas discoveries totaling more than a TCF. In Guyana as lead geophysicist/exploration mgr., I was responsible for discovery of first oil albeit uneconomical, leading up to the recent ExxonMobil discovery on trend.

Former Executive Director  – Chuck Pleasants, P.E.

charles-pleasants Chuck’s career in the energy industry includes Otis Engineering Corporation (now the C&P division of Halliburton), and Baker Oil Tools (now the CWI division of Baker Hughes), with the vast majority of his time devoted to the completion and production segment of the oilfield services industry.

He started his career as an Application and Design Engineer progressing to a Senior Manager and Engineering Director.  His product line background is extensive and includes hydraulic workover, coiled tubing, flow control, casing exits, production packers, wellbore cleanout, liner hangers, and annular casing packers. His teams have won numerous awards including best commercial project, best new technology, and the coveted OTC Spotlight Award.

Chuck is a co-inventor on seventeen patents and has coauthored seven SPE technical papers.  He is also a professional registered engineer in Texas and Alaska, and a member of the API 19LH task force that has generated a liner hanger standard.

Former Executive Director – Christopher Guidry

Chris-guidry BSME, CAD/CAM (Eng/Ops/BD Director), mechanical Engineer, University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Seasoned O&G professional with experience encompassing research, product/system design and development, manufacturing, testing, operations, and product-line commercialization of Completions and Well Intervention equipment. Chris is an inventor on multiple granted patents, and he has given several related published technical paper presentations at industry conferences. While the majority of his Engineering Manager experience comprises of new/strategic product development, recently he gained international operations and logistics experiences working as a Baker Hughes Operations Manager in Trinidad and Algeria.

As a Chemical Engineer, Adrienne utilizes her knowledge of plant operations, SH&E regulations, and industry standards to reduce business risk for companies in the chemicals and oil& gas sectors.
